Step 1

To change the legend settings of the X-Y Plot, first, you need to double click on a plot or choose Graph / XY Plot from the Format menu to open a tabbed dialog box.

Then, it will display the Formatting Currently Selected X-Y Plot dialog box. Click Traces tab. Assign names to each trace by clicking the default names listed in the Legend label column of the scrolling list in the middle of the dialog box. You'll see the name reproduced in the text box below this column. When you have finished the settings, click the Ok button. You also can click the Apply button to apply the settings.
